Playhouses
Often found
in playgrounds, playhouses are sold by companies in a vast range of sizes
and set up.
The size of the door or entrance area should allow the passage of a wheelchair
and should not have any steps or other obstacles.
The space inside should allow comfortable manoeuvring for children
in wheelchairs even with others inside the box. A child in a wheelchair
should be able to get close to any levels or table of toys in the playhouse.
Therefore, special attention should be paid to their height, depth,
and any presence of supports that might be an obstacle for getting
close with a wheelchair.
Handholds and supports must be present both inside and outside the
playhouse, and benches and seats for resting or taking part in toys
when sitting. It is better if at least one seat is provided with backrest
and armrest.
